In spite of having a respected domestic league that punches above its weight in Europe, Czechia will be playing in their first World Cup since 2006. Qualifying wasn't smooth, as the team had to beat Ireland and then Denmark for a spot. Both games went to penalties. Still, the quality is here for a run. The team will turn over a new rock as they invite youth, including 17-year-old Sparta midfielder Hugo Sochůrek, Plzeň's Alexandr Sojka, and Mladá Boleslav forward Christophe Kabongo.
